Athletics day

Hi everyone

On Tuesday it was athletics day and it was really fun. I did shot put, long distance, discus, long jump and high jump. My favourite was high jump. It was raining so we had to do the sprints on Wednesday. I got 3rd in long distance and 3rd in long jump. It was a great two days. please leave me a comment.

Student Summit

 Hi everyone

Today our class was involved in the Student Summit via Google Meet. All of the schools in Uru Manuka were involved in presenting a workshop and we were participating. We got to learn about different tools and programmes that we can use to help us learn. There were 4 sessions. I did the Stop Motion, Canva, Unscreen and Mihi Maker workshops.

In Stop Motion they taught us about making small movies.

In Canva we were taught how to make posters.

In Mihi Maker is like doing a pepeha and making things all about you in to a game with Maori language. I enjoyed that it was very colourful and fast to do.

In Unscreen I learnt that you can change stuff like backgrounds and stickers, can change the sky.

My favourite workshop was Mihi Maker because it was so much fun.

Show don't tell writing

😎😻💨Hello welcome back to my blog. I am going to be showing you my show don't tell writing of me climbing a mountain. We had to show our feelings not tell please enjoy my writing and read it. 

One morning I was climbing a mountain with gloves on my hands, I had a scarf on and a jacket, and long pants. I was hunching my shoulders. I was very tired my back was so sore it felt like ice. I felt like someone was trying to kill me Hunching my shoulder Rubbing my arms. My heart is beating really fast. I can see houses  around the mountain. I feel like I want hot chocolate. I did not look down because if i did then i would feel like I was going to fall.

After that the boy was playing with the dog and threw the ball for him. My first sentence was " I thought he was playing too much then his mum came in with a present." and my improved sentence was "The boy was playing Playstation I can see the TV in his eyes air was blowing there was a pack of chips lying down on the floor on his back." Do you like my improved sentence.

returning to school

Kia ora readers today l am going to share my first draft of some writing to school our teacher gave us some instructions to writing about how we mere feeling about back to school. I feel good about my writing. What could I do to improve my writing?

The night before school went back after lockdown i was happy. I missed school because i couldn’t do maths.

When i  woke up in the morning i was feeling happy and excited. I got dressed and had breakfast and waited to go to school. When I walked to school I was Excited.

Ferris Wheel

Yesterday we wrote about going on the Ferris Wheel. We wrote about what we could see, feel, hear and smell.  A lot of the words I wrote had 'ing' on the end and were descriptive words. I used capital letters. Here is my Writing.
